My Unwitting Journey Into the Tarot World - Part 1

Part 1: The Mysterious Draw to Tarot: How It All Began

Intro: The Cosmic Pull Before I Knew Tarot

From a young age, I had a strange fascination with the intangible forces that seemed to shape the world around me. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it, but I felt there was more to life than what met the eye. There was a rhythm, a quiet hum beneath the surface of daily existence, as if life itself was woven with invisible threads connecting everything — people, places, events, and emotions. I wasn’t searching for answers, but I couldn’t help feeling that something out there was gently nudging me to look beyond the ordinary.

Growing up, I often found myself drawn to symbols and patterns, even though I didn’t understand their significance. I would lose myself in books about mythology, enchanted by tales of gods, goddesses, and the archetypal journeys they undertook. There was something about those stories — their universal truths, their timeless lessons — that resonated with me. I didn’t realize it then, but those myths were planting the seeds of a deeper understanding of the world, one that would later connect seamlessly with Tarot.

Even the night sky fascinated me. I would spend hours gazing at the stars, wondering about the mysteries they held. The vastness of the universe made me feel small, yet deeply connected to something greater. I remember a particular summer evening when I stared at a full moon for what felt like an eternity. I didn’t know why, but I felt as though the moon was speaking to me, not in words but in a quiet, comforting energy.

At the time, I didn’t think of these experiences as anything extraordinary. They were simply fleeting moments of curiosity and wonder. But in hindsight, I can see how they were part of a larger puzzle, one that Tarot would eventually help me piece together.

What’s fascinating is that there was no single, defining moment that pushed me toward Tarot. It wasn’t a dramatic spiritual awakening or a sudden realization of my path. Instead, it was a slow, steady pull — a magnetic attraction to the unseen forces that seemed to shape my life.

I remember noticing this pull even in the smallest things. I was always intrigued by art that featured enigmatic imagery, like mystical eyes, celestial patterns, and ancient symbols. I didn’t know their meanings, but I felt a deep connection to them. It was as though they were whispering truths I couldn’t yet comprehend, planting a seed in my subconscious.

Looking back, I see that these early fascinations were breadcrumbs, leading me toward a path I hadn’t yet discovered. The signs were there all along, even though I didn’t recognize them for what they were. It was only years later, when Tarot entered my life, that I realized how everything — the symbols, the patterns, the stories — had been pointing me toward this mystical journey.

Tarot didn’t burst into my life suddenly. It arrived quietly, like a whisper carried on the wind, waiting for me to be ready. And when it finally did, it felt as though I had found something I had been unknowingly searching for all my life. The pull I had felt for years wasn’t random; it was the universe gently guiding me toward the cards, toward the lessons they would teach me, and toward a deeper understanding of myself.
